Startup Visa
Entrepreneurs with an innovative, unique and creative business idea and the necessary skills set to launch a new company can apply for permanent residency under the Start-up Visa Program in Canada. A Venture Capital Fund, an Angel Investor Group, or an Incubator are the three designated organization that applicants must satisfy to support their creative idea. If the chosen organisation endorses the business concept, it will provide a Letter of Support, which serves as the foundation for submitting a Start-up Visa application.
To be eligible under Start Up visa program requirements you must have,
- Letter of support by the designated angel investor group or venture capital fund or business incubator (minimum financial commitment $75,000 from angel investor or $200,000 from venture capital fund, or acceptance into a business incubator program).
- Language requirement of CLB 5+ in English or French
- Proof of sufficient funds.
- Total number of 5 applicants are allowed if each of them holds at least 10% voting rights and jointly with designated organization hold more than 50% voting rights.
